Sophie's Senior Session at Sheffield Regional Park
Some seniors just have a presence about them, and Sophie was definitely one of those people.
From the moment we started her senior session at Sheffield Regional Park in Jacksonville, I knew this was going to be a fun one. She showed up with the best energy, so much confidence, and the kind of personality that makes everyone around her feel comfortable. If I had to describe her in two words, I'd say confident and driven. She has that perfect mix of athlete and girly girl, which made every part of her session feel completely true to who she is.
We started in the open field, which ended up being one of my favorite parts of the entire session. The skies were cloudy all evening, and rain moved in shortly after we finished, but somehow the weather ended up giving us the perfect backdrop. The soft light paired beautifully with the wide open field, and Sophie's confidence made every photo feel effortless. She wore the cutest two-piece tank and skirt set and honestly looked like she belonged in a magazine.
As we continued exploring Sheffield Regional Park, Sophie changed into her University of South Florida shirt to celebrate the next chapter ahead. Watching seniors talk about their future is always one of my favorite parts of these sessions, and you could tell how excited she is for everything that's ahead.
One thing that stood out throughout the entire evening was how comfortable and confident Sophie was in front of the camera. After the session, her family shared that she felt completely like herself the entire time and that we fed off each other's energy so naturally. They even said people were asking if she was a model, which honestly made me laugh because by the end of the session, she kind of looked like one.
My favorite part of the evening happened when Sophie brought out her track medals. The second she held them in her hands, she absolutely lit up. You could see how proud she was of everything she had accomplished throughout high school, and those are always the moments I love documenting most. The pretty portraits are important, but the photos that tell a story and capture who someone really is are the ones that matter years from now.
We finished the session down by the dock in the cutest romper and cap and gown before ending with a few timeless portraits without the graduation gear. It was the perfect way to celebrate everything she has accomplished while looking ahead to everything that's next.
Sophie, thank you for trusting me to capture such an exciting season of your life. I have no doubt you're going to do amazing things at USF.
If you're looking for a Jacksonville senior photographer or a Nease High School senior photographer, I'd love to help create a senior session that feels just as personal, fun, and true to you.
